Hi there, I'm Frances!

California LCSW, MSW, PhD, 20 plus years of experience working with individuals/families with trauma due to chronic medical illness and complex coping. My expertise involves managing life transitions for those having difficulty coping with changes that accompany these issues: anxiety, decision-making, loss, grief, bereavement, and end-of-life care.

My focus

I work with people experiencing trauma & family changes due to illness, having a tough time doing everyday things, feeling anxious or run down, overwhelmed, or empty. I focus on exploring feelings, beliefs, & behaviors, using evidence-informed strategies, to provide support and deep compassion that counteract negative voices and feelings of guilt.

My approach

I utilize evidence-informed therapeutic interventions, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Narrative therapies. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, to help you face challenges, integrate awareness, and develop ways of coping through demonstrated strategies that create meaningful change.
