My name is Constance Thorsnes. I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 5 years. My goal in therapy is to help individuals feel more calm and confident by acting in ways that align with their personal values.
My approach
The rapport I share with my clients allows us to explore difficult thoughts and feelings using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an Existential-Humanistic framework, and Brainspotting.
My focus
I primarily work with professionals, graduate students, and parents suffering from stress, personal conflict, anxiety, the effects of trauma, family issues, and marital conflict.
My communication style
I’m straightforward and genuine. I care for my clients and respect their autonomy. In the session, we closely examine scenarios that help us both better understand how to create a plan to increase the client’s well-being.
My journey to mental healthcare
I always knew I would be a therapist. I enjoy collaboration and delight in my client’s accomplishments.
My goals for you
It’s my responsibility to keep my focus on the initial goal and then to empower the client to jointly assess our progress towards meeting the goal or establishing a new goal.
My first session with you
I will ask about your history, family, and day-to-day experience. We will discuss your expectations, concerns, and goals. During the first session, we will start developing the treatment plan.
