My communication style

I focus on getting to understand your way of communicating and figuring out how we can best understand each other. My clients frequently hear me tell them to please let me know if something is unclear or if they don't understand why I asked or said something. My goal is for us to work together to create a unique relationship between you and me.

My journey to mental healthcare

I grew up learning the complex history and challenges my extended family endured and how they forged meaningful lives and relationships. I have a large extended family with many examples of hardship, but also unconditional love and mutual support that gave me a foundational understanding of how relationships can both cause and heal our traumas.

My goals for you

To figure out your treatment goals, I work with you to understand how your symptoms impact your quality of life. From there, we make sense of the symptoms and find tools and strategies you can use. I celebrate incremental successes and eliminate tools that didn't work so we can move on.

Our first session

Starting with a new therapist can be nerve-wracking. Whether you've been in therapy before or this is your first time trying it out, meeting a new clinician can take a lot out of you. My goal when meeting with a new prospective client is to help you figure out if I'm the right therapist for you.
