Hi there, I'm Margalit!

Hi, I'm Dr Maggie Grossman. I love music, comedy, ice cream, and people. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley but now live in San Diego with my husband and two very energetic little boys. We love hanging out together outside whether it be hiking, the beach, or live music and are always looking for new foods to try.

My approach

I believe in working with you to find a way to best meet your goals, whatever they may be. I have experiences with a number of therapeutic strategies and believe in finding the right tools to help your unique needs. The modalities I utilize include Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Compassion Focused, Culturally Sensitive, Eclectic, Existential, Family Systems, Feminist, Grief Therapy, Heart Centered, Holistic, Humanistic, Integrative or Integral Psychotherapy, Interpersonal, Mindfulness-Based, Motivational Interviewing, Multicultural, Person-Centered, Solution Focused, and Supportive therapies.

My focus

I have worked with all ages and a diverse variety of people. My specialties include addiction, adolescents/teens, adoption, alcohol use, aging, anxiety, career counseling, chronic illness, chronic pain, coping skills, cultural stress, depression, divorce, domestic violence, drug abuse, dual diagnosis, family conflict, grief, infertility, infidelity, job stress, legal stress, LGBTQIA+ issues, life coaching, life transitions, men's issues, parenting, relapse prevention, relationship issues, school issues, self esteem, self-harming, sexual abuse, sexual orientation, spirituality, sports performance, stress, substance use, suicidal ideation, transgender issues, women's issues, pregnancy/prenatal/postpartum concerns, older adults, child abuse or neglect, marital/pre-marital counseling, and gender identity. I am willing to see individuals in my practice.

My communication style

I enjoy working with clients creating an environment where your mental health is a priority and the space we make becomes a healing one. I look forward to learning more about you and what will work best for you.

My journey to mental healthcare

I earned my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from the California School of Professional Psychology in Fresno, California. I attended the program from September 2012 to July 2017.

My goals for you

My goal is to provide you with a safe, supportive space to explore your challenges and work towards positive change and personal growth. I aim to empower you with coping skills and insights to navigate life's difficulties and achieve your full potential.

My first session with you

In our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and collaborate to establish your treatment goals. I will learn about your background, current struggles, and hopes for the future. We will also review policies and procedures. Most importantly, we will begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship as the foundation for our work together. I encourage you to ask any questions you may have as we embark on this healing journey.
