Hi there, I'm Genesis!

I am a bilingual social worker born and raised in Downtown Los Angeles, where my passion for breaking generational trauma developed. My goal is to assist my clients in identifying and understanding their challenges to create a better quality of life.

My focus

I treat young adults who are experiencing issues with the following: depression, anxiety, grief, self-esteem, stress, and life transitions.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is the 'Here and now.' My focus is for my clients to understand who they are and what they are currently feeling to better understand how to make feasible changes. The past is also important; however, the present will be our focus.

My communication style

Therapy is a journey of discovery. I enjoy psychoeducating my client while also helping them uncover and identify their symptoms. I provide an environment that can be humorous and fun, as well as vulnerable and challenging.

My journey to mental healthcare

Navigating being a Latina and growing up in a low-income neighborhood required a lot of self-motivation and guidance from the people around me. I was fortunate to have older siblings who connected me to the right people and set up a healthy and fruitful path towards college.

Goal setting for clients begins with the "Here and now." We begin where you are today and set SMART goals: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound.

Our first session

During the first session, my client can expect to do a 'Meet and Greet.' My goal is to get to know you and to understand what your communication style is. We will also identify what your goals are.
