Hi there, I'm Jazmín!
I am a bilingual LMFT in California with 14 years of experience working in clinical practice. I was born and raised in San Francisco's Mission District. I am Salvadoran and Nicaraguan. I help clients in their recovery to become agents of change and wellness in their respective communities by using culturally congruent evidence-based techniques.
My focus
I am a trauma expert and have over 20 years of experience working with historically marginalized communities, including but not limited to clients dealing with immigration/deportation, domestic and community violence, homelessness, incarceration, and more. I treat symptoms of trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, suicidal ideation, and self-esteem.
My approach
I adhere to the First Nations (Maya and Nahuatl) and Yoruba paradigm of health and wellness. I integrate these paradigms within the framework of Liberation Psychology and evidence-based techniques and interventions to empower clients on their healing journey. I believe that clients are experts in their lives and have wisdom about how to live.
