Hi! I'm Megan Thomas, my pronouns are she/her/hers. I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for almost 20 years. I love supporting children, couples, families, and adults with creating and changing circumstances to bring positive change.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is primarily humanistic and cognitive/behavioral with an emphasis on how ecosystems and pragmatic approach can assist with change.
My focus
I have a specialty in children and parenting, with family dynamics. I am comfortable with supporting adults and all aged children from many different cultures.
My communication style
The tone of our work together will be supportive and direct. I will trust you to understand what needs to be changed and will give you this information in a safe and open way. You know what is best for you, and we will find this knowledge together.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became attracted to the mental health field during middle school, and my passion for contributing to this profession has only grown over the years. I currently practice mental health and family and marriage in a local large urban school district.
My goals for you
Goal setting is an important part of change. We will need to create clear reachable goals that you feel comfortable with and create a timeline that works for you.
My first session with you
My primary goal is to create a space that feels safe. Our work together can not move forward unless you feel comfortable and heard. Our first session will assess your needs and start the foundation of a trusting relationship to create change.
