Hello, I am EveLynn McGuinness, I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I received my Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University and did research at UCLA and The California Institute of Technology before focusing full-time on clinical practice.
My approach
My approach to therapy is eclectic since I believe it important to use whatever tools best match my client’s needs. I tend to lean cognitive behavioral but modify that as needed.
My focus
I have worked with a variety of clients both individually and relationship counseling.
My communication style
I try to create a safe space for my clients where they can be open about pain they have experienced and feel protected. I like to work collaboratively in setting goals and developing a treatment plan.
My goals for you
In setting goals it is important to focus on what is most important to you and what we need to explore to set you up for success.
My first session with you
Our first session is likely to be spent exploring your goals in therapy and what is bringing you in to see me. I will also want to start to get a sense of you as a person and what strengths and weaknesses you bring to the process.
