Hello, I'm Tamara Daniel, LMFT based in Los Angeles. I have 15 years of experience working with adolescents, foster youth, parents, and adults who experienced ADHD, depression, anxiety, and other life stressors.
My approach
I am experienced in Trauma Focused Therapy, CBT, Solution Focused and Narrative. Although I have experience in these and other approaches, the goal is to meet the clients where they are. Let's face it, life is hard so my desire is to work with the client to develop and enhance the skills needed to navigate and manage life without being consumed.
My focus
As a community mental health therapist, I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse population from various walks of life. This has allowed me to remain open to any client. My typical caseload included those experiencing depression, anxiety, psychosis, and childhood trauma to name a few.
My communication style
The focus is always for my clients to feel they are heard and in a safe place to express themselves without judgment. I will provide a warm, calm, and inviting environment as we begin to address those challenges faced.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have had a lot of loss in my life and the one I turned to supported me through the healing process helping me understand that there is a great life beyond, death, divorce, etc. I want to do the same for others. As stated before, life is challenging BUT manageable, and once managed, you change, grow, and flourish into a beautiful force to be reckoned with.
My goals for you
The client has ownership of the therapy process. My job is to collaborate with the client to assist in identifying specific time-bound goals that fit the needs identified.
My first session with you
My first session begins with rapport building to get to know you followed by questions such as what brings you to counseling, presenting problems, and some background information. The purpose of the above is to assess and formulate a plan to assist in the overall achievement of identified therapeutic goals. I promise to honor your pace and won't pry too much in this first meeting.
