Melinda Drake

Hi there, I'm Melinda!

I am a licensed clinical social worker in California, New York, Hawaii, and Oklahoma, and am also licensed as an Independent Social Worker for Clinical and Advanced Practice in South Carolina. I have worked in the behavioral health field for more than 25 years in chronic mental illness, substance use, and intellectual disabilities.

My focus

My work with individuals who have experienced trauma is rooted in the belief that healing is not something done to a person, but something awakened within them. I create environments that honor each person’s autonomy, resilience, and capacity for self-restoration and self-compassion.

My approach

Through my journey as a clinician, I've found that to help people deal with the issues that create angst in their lives, I need to meet them where they are. It is the connection with the individual that allows changes to happen. It is a privilege to guide individuals in difficult areas of their lives, allowing the individual to find their answers.
