Hello! My name is Deanna Dickerson and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been licensed since 2012 and have spent my career working with adults dealing with mental health issues.
My approach
My therapy approach is based primarily on supportive and compassionate modalities. I also use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
My focus
I prefer to work with adults. I spent many years working with adults with personality disorders and various mental health issues. I primarily work with people dealing with anxiety, depression, and trauma at this time.
My communication style
My goal is to provide a space where my clients feel welcomed, accepted, and heard. It is a time to share their thoughts and feelings openly without fear of rejection or judgment.
My journey to mental healthcare
A desire to help others deal with life's many ups and downs.
My goals for you
After the rapport is established and the purpose of the therapy has been established, I like to discuss and identify with the client where the work needs to begin, what is the most pressing issue, and begin where they are at in the therapeutic process. Revisiting and discussing goals often.
My first session with you
Introductions followed by mandated reporting explanation. Then an open floor to share what brought them to therapy and what they hope to achieve. Encouraging feedback.
