Hi there, I'm Kevin!
Over my career as a therapist, I have worked with a variety of clients across the lifespan. The areas I have focused on are addictions, LGBTQ+, identity, attachment, and end-of-life issues. My primary goal is to build trust and a strong alliance with a client in order to assist them in the process of change.
My focus
I am most interested in clients I would describe as "searchers," although they may not characterize themselves that way. I believe that the struggle to find meaning in life can be triggered by challenging or painful life events such as addiction, a breakup, retirement, or turning a "big" age like 30 or 50.
My approach
I consider myself to be a psychodynamic psychotherapist, meaning that I often look beneath the surface of what the client feels, says, or does. I integrate the tools of other approaches in my work with clients. These include primarily Existential therapy, but also CBT, Self Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Feminist therapy.
