Hi there, I'm Philippa!

I am a strength-based therapist because I believe in and like to build on the inherent strength of a person. I work to support, encourage, and empower you to recognize and use your own capabilities.

My focus

I work with couples who are separated or going through divorce to establish parenting plans. I address depression, anxiety, and trauma from domestic violence. I am comfortable working with individuals struggling with problems related to their social environment.

My approach

I use strength-based and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I use reality and humanistic therapy. I believe that people are the experts of their lives, and my purpose as a therapist is to support, encourage, and empower people to empower themselves.

My communication style

I believe it is vital for people to feel comfortable in my presence. I want you to feel validated and to know that your thoughts and feelings are respected and heard. I am comfortable with silence and unconditionally accept people without judgment.

My journey to mental healthcare

I worked in corrections before transitioning to therapeutic work with juveniles in detention. I then provided crisis assessments and worked in community mental health, which deepened my awareness of family strength and self-determination. I love being in this field and am driven to inspire hope.

My goals for you

I can set goals for what they want to achieve, but as therapy proceeds, I understand that goals can change due to the fluidity of therapy.
