My name is Sjoekje F. Sasbone, LCSW. I have a process-oriented approach. My clients and I share a space to help them accomplish their goals as a team.
My approach
My therapeutic orientation is mainly Psychodynamic and Solution Focus.
My focus
I assist adults with mood and psychotic disorders, interpersonal relationship issues, life adjustment/transitional issues, and LGBTQIA-related issues.
My communication style
I provide an open, accepting & honest environment. From the moment my client steps through the door, we are a team. I rely on the details my clients provide me to reach their goals at a comfortable pace.
My journey to mental healthcare
Since 1994, I have provided various services for diverse populations within the community as an intern, clinical social worker, supervisor, board member, and volunteer. Since 1984, I have had broad experience with such populations, where I have consistently worked on enhancing my inter/intrapersonal skills, which have involved public speaking, problem-solving, social involvement, creativity, endurance, determination, and philanthropy. I have consistently committed to producing the highest quality of care for my clientele to help them be the best version of themselves that they want to be.
My goals for you
My sessions are process-oriented. I do not assign homework unless it organically comes up in session as something the client is interested in doing.
My first session with you
I am interested to know what brings my client into the session, what they want to accomplish in therapy, whether they have participated in therapy before, what worked/didn't work with their last provider & to take the time to ensure we are a good fit before committing to work with me.
