Hi there! My name is Madai Zesati and I am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Ontario, California, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with teens, young adults, and older adults. I work collaboratively with each client, as well as providing a safe and supportive environment to help them get to a place of self-acceptance and find strength within to address life's challenges, by assisting them in realizing, cultivating, and accessing internal and external resources to make positive changes in life.
My approach
One size does not fit all, which is why I tailor the treatment plan to fit each client's unique strengths and challenges. Using different approaches from CBT, narrative, acceptance, and other theories, allows me to help build an approach that feels comfortable for each individual, and have this be a place for continued growth and adaption.
My focus
I have worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, mild depression, ethnicity and race, body image, LQTBQ+ individuals, and those experiencing transitions in life such as breakups, new life adjustments, and grief. As a Spanish fluent speaker, I found myself also working with monolingual clients to provide support and be a resource where at times in the community can be limiting.
My communication style
My goal is for you to feel heard, seen, and valued. I strive to create a safe and calming space for you to feel free to express yourself. Some individuals like a directive approach with homework to do, while others find value in a free open space. Whichever environment feels most comfortable, we can strive to reach that together.
My first session with you
You can expect our first session to be getting to know each other, by being listened to and validated. My goal is for you to feel as if you are sharing what is most important, and if that is not the case then I am more than open to making the change.
