Welcome! Zeana Bey is a compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who brings a calm holistic approach to healing. Zeana works from the perspective that each person has the ability to heal their own life, and believes her role is to listen, provide support and guidance, and help you find and develop your inner strengths and coping skills that may be hidden or undeveloped because of difficult events or situations you’ve experienced.
My approach
Zeana's approach is person-centered, culturally sensitive, and non-judgmental. She strives to create a safe space for clients where they can feel truly seen and heard wherever they are at. Zeana specializes in trauma recovery using evidence-based techniques like EMDR, CBT, DBT, and solutions-oriented therapies. Her expertise extends to working with children and families, where she prioritizes building connections, fostering growth, and tailoring therapy to meet the individual needs of her clients.
My focus
Zeana has over 10 years of experience working with children, teens, and adults who are attempting to deal with the various mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual challenges that adverse life experiences can present. This includes treating various feelings of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem/self-worth, and mistrust that can arise from everyday challenges or more complex trauma experiences such as abuse or sexual assault.
My communication style
Zeana approaches clients with a mix of empathy, compassion, and humor, and believes it is important to understand and validate people's experiences. She believes it's important to let clients set the pace and direction of therapy while also supporting them in staying focused on their overall therapeutic goals. She also understands that the same behaviors and beliefs that may have helped someone survive and overcome a more difficult time in their life may no longer be helpful or adaptive, and in some cases can be harmful. In these situations, she seeks to create the emotional safety needed to explore and gently challenge thoughts and behavioral patterns that are no longer useful. Zeana is receptive to and seeks feedback from her clients, as she believes this integral in ensuring therapy is helpful and tailored to each client's needs.
