I am interested in helping clients with their personal growth by making changes in their lives to avoid repeating old patterns.

My focus

In my practice, I work with clients who are experiencing challenges with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family issues, difficult life transitions, as well as drug and alcohol problems.

My approach

My approach is client-centered, supportive, and non-judgmental. I get to know and understand my clients to find out what's most important for them to work on in therapy. The most common theoretical approaches I use include cognitive behavioral, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, as well as psychoanalytical.

My communication style

My communication style is often steeped in curiosity. I tend to ask a lot of questions and listen closely. My clients have told me that I have a calm tone. Overall, I like to provide a safe space, free from judgment.

My journey to mental healthcare

I knew I wanted to work with people after taking a human development class in high school. I went to college for Psychology and quickly became interested in an advanced degree in Social Work. From there, I had several different jobs, including inpatient hospital work, which I still miss from time to time.

My goals for you

Goal setting is a collaborative process. I would like to understand what my client wants to achieve and what their needs are. Together, we can set goals and check in regularly to see if the goals are being met and make adjustments as needed.

In our first session, I will ask you what brings you into therapy and gather some history. We can discuss what is important for you to work on in therapy and make plans for future sessions.
