Hello... I am Elaine Quattro, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I see myself as a change agent helping clients by empowering them to explore their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
My approach
I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client.
My focus
With over 25 years experience as a marriage and family therapist, I work with a broad spectrum of clients. Among my areas of expertise are assisting men and women to find their true strengths and identify what might be stealing their joy. I use proven techniques to help improve communication in all types of relationships and use the power of cognitive beliefs to help with depression and anxiety. I have a business background also and provide direction with career transitions.
My communication style
It is a privilege for me to work with clients who are seeking change but not sure how to get there. In non judgmental ways, I assure that clients are comfortable so that we are can address the issues they want to work on. I am solution focused so am direct about the work required for client to make necessary changes to meet agreed upon goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was in the business world of marketing for many years. I decided to go back to graduate school in my 40's to study counseling psychology. I consider it a privilege that people come to me and trust that I am able to help them.
My goals for you
I work with the client to mutually create goals that are attainable and to look at how those goals can be measured to reflect growth and change. I ask outright how the client would know if therapy was working in 3 months, 6 months, etc.
My first session with you
My style is to create rapport by asking questions in a nonthreatening manner so I can help client to clarify what might be stealing his/her joy in life. I explain in advance what will happen in the session. When it ends, I ask client their comfort level in continuing therapy or if they want to think about it and let me know. No pressure tactics.
