Hello! My name is Alethea Bowen, also go by Ali, and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 52182). My focus has been on transitional age, complex trauma, relational issues, and empowerment. It has been such a gift to support people in their transformation through adapting, changing, and evolving. Everyone is on their own path, so I use an integrated approach to guide individuals through the complexities of life versus the label or diagnosis.
My approach
Each person has their own strengths and challenges that they bring to therapy. In lieu of that, I use an eclectic approach including Brainspotting, CBT, DBT, Strength-Based approach, Motivational Interviewing, Emotional Freedom Technique, Internal Family Systems, and Sensory Techniques.
My focus
My forte is around transitional age youth (16-24), midlife transitions (divorce, change in careers and retirement), trauma work ( complex and medical), and relational issues.
My communication style
I like to create a safe, comfortable, non-judgmental environment. I am interactive and look into individualized baby steps that can be focused on to make the most positive difference to meet their goals in therapy. Using empathy, humor, and support to find what is needed to move forward with the client's growth.
