Hi there, I'm Monique!

My name is Monique Galindo Soderstrom, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I see children, adolescents, adults, and families. For those who have never been in therapy, it can be a scary experience. My clients and coworkers tell me that I have a very warm and calming demeanor. I try to make the process of starting therapy as simple and stress-free as possible. I welcome my clients with a safe, supportive, and come-as-you-are approach. Together we can work on parenting, reducing and/or eliminating worry, anxiety, depression, and unhealthy habits you may be experiencing. I am trained in Maternal Mental Health, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Gestalt, DBT, and Inner Child work. I am able to help clients identify their stumbling blocks and strengths. I want my clients to gain courage, confidence, and change in themselves. In collaboration with clients, I find creative ways to set goals, process situations, and help clients get to know the many parts of them. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I had the privilege and blessing to work with an exceptional therapist for my own relational issues and behaviors. After seeking mental health support for myself I decided I wanted to "pay it forward". My professional work experience has been with children as young at 4yrs old to teens on criminal probation status. I have worked with many mothers and families, women with body image issues/eating disorders, co-parenting due to separation or divorce, and helping people develop into their authentic selves. I use expressive therapies in sessions for both adults and children [play therapy, art therapy for our unconscious mind], talk therapy, and some structured therapy. I implement skills that my clients are comfortable participating in. I understand therapy can and will be different from someone else's experience. I make your sessions with you and about you. My therapy can be eclectic as I use techniques from Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Jungian Therapy, and Emotional Acceptance. Monique Galindo Soderstrom, LMFT126106
