I am excited that you are here today. My primary job as a psychotherapist is to assist others in managing issues in life. I enjoy helping others; I like providing the right tools to individuals in order to allow them to see their potential in life; to see them make progress towards their goals. However, this is not my only role in life. I am also a friend, partner, and step-parent who plays a role in who I am today and my personality. I believe my personality is very welcoming to others. I am friendly, a good listener, and empathetic; this has helped my approach in therapy as it eases the process of building rapport and setting an accepting environment. I was raised in a home with values and morals that now define who I am and have also helped my career; this includes being humble, honest, respectful and caring.
My approach
Throughout my nine years of experience, I have dealt with different diagnoses, including Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, and Adjustment Disorder, among others. I also have certifications in the following areas: EMDR, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Batterers Intervention Program.
My focus
My experience varies from working with individuals involved in domestic violence relationships to also working with the children/other family members involved and the perpetrators. By providing education and the right tools to individuals, I am able to help process trauma, heal, and assist in creating a positive change. I also enjoy working with teenagers who are struggling with communication, acceptance and other issues. Working with couples can be, at times, challenging, but it's rewarding to change negative patterns and increase healthy communication. I have also worked with individuals in order to treat different diagnostics, including anxiety, depression, and bipolar, among others.
My communication style
Psychotherapy is a non-judgmental and safe environment that provides support, understanding and care for the patient. It's understandable that at times it is not easy to accept that help is needed. But once that first step is taken, individuals are one step forward towards positive change.
My journey to mental healthcare

My goals for you
It has been a common factor that many of these individuals lack a good support system, healthy coping skills, and a specific plan to treat the issues they are faced with. Understanding how different mental illnesses present in each individual has helped me provide the best treatment as I integrate the individual's personality and the symptoms that need to be targeted into one specific plan. My first session with you
During the first session, a safe and non-judgmental environment will be created in order to allow the client to be who they are. There will be information gathering, psycho-education and rapport building.
