Hi there, I'm Philip!

Hello, I am Philip Beitel, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California since 1977. I approach my practice with a passion and commitment to the welfare and progress of my clients. You are walking a unique path in this life, and I will be your ally, guide, and your coach as we progress according to your wishes, goals, and aspirations.

My approach

As a client-centered therapist, I take a supportive and positive attitude as we approach the realization of our shared vision of a successful therapy outcome.

My focus

Young adults in transition comprised most of my practice. I have worked extensively with active duty military overseas. We are all works in progress, so my role is to help guide your progress to a meaningful and gratifying destination.

My communication style

You will feel cared for, heard, and understood. While therapy can feel scary, trust will be earned over time.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have the skill and talent to help you achieve new insight into the places you might feel stuck or troubled, and to guide you in a direction that feels like real and lasting progress. To me, it is a way of feeling that I am contributing to the betterment of our society, one client at a time.

My goals for you

I will take a collaborative approach to goal setting by working with you to articulate a shared vision for success. We will dig deeper to integrate your values and your aspirations into a realistic set of goals that promise the status and joy of achievement.

My first session with you

Our first session will be an active dialogue where we can set the tone and the foundation for developing trust. I will get to know you in an interactive discussion of the components of your life that you find relevant to the questions and problems you bring to the therapeutic alliance.
