Hi there, I'm Stacy!

HI! I'm Stacy. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My role is to help you identify your unique strengths and skills and combine those with new skills and insights so you can live the life you want to live. I understand that there is a lot that goes into the decision to talk to someone about what is going on right now. I am glad you are considering this.

My approach

My work stems from a Wellness and Recovery perspective focusing on hope, personal responsibility, education, self-advocacy, and support. I am trained in humanistic theories and Positive Psychology. I typically use future-oriented techniques that focus on change such as Solution Focused Therapy and Reality Therapy. I believe that you are the expert on you and that you create meaning and purpose in your life.

My focus

I typically work with people who may be experiencing thoughts and feelings connected to Depression and Anxiety. Perhaps you would like to worry less, sleep better, drink less, rebuild or improve relationships, gain insight, forgive, make that important life decision, feel more productive or hopeful, or just understand why it is you are feeling the way you do right now. People I work with often describe feeling "stuck" or think "it shouldn't have to be this hard," or believe "there must be a better way" and there is.

My communication style

People have various communication and learning styles. We will spend some time discussing the ways in which you communicate and learn. Coming from a military family and because of the work I have done in health care, I am comfortable with clear direct communication and feedback. I also value the richness and intimacy created with others through the stories we tell about ourselves, our experiences, and the people around us.

My journey to mental healthcare

I understand that the environment and systems impact our relationships, opportunities, and resources. I know that there are things that happen to us that are not our fault. All of those things affect how we see ourselves and the world. I also know, without a doubt, that that the future is yours to design, and you get to decide what that looks like for you.

My goals for you

My job is to help you achieve the life that you design. We will spend time exploring what your life goal is. We will identify your unique strengths, resources, and skills, address barriers, and break down the steps needed to achieve your goals celebrating small successes along the way.

My first session with you

When we meet for the first time you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you have about the process. I want to start to learn from you what is working and what is not working. What do you want to be different about your life, and why now? You might not know any of that right now and that is ok, we have time. It doesn't matter where you start, or with whom. Change your mind along the way, this doesn't have to be perfect, but it certainly doesn't have to stay the same.
