My name is Dr. Michelle Lefebvre and I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I support adult clients in achieving their goals and living lives consistent with their values. I also work with young children and their families to support their development and improve family life.
My approach
My approach to therapy treatment is authentic and honest. I draw from a variety of treatment modalities, though the most common are cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, solution-focused, and narrative. Which treatment modality I use is dependent on the client's needs, preferences, and the plan for treatment.
My focus
I have experience treating adults experiencing a wide variety of concerns. I support individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and unsatisfactory relationships. I am also versed in treating individuals experiencing difficulties adjusting to parenthood, challenges with parenting, and the sometimes uncomfortable identity shifts that come with parenthood. My work with young children and their parents or caregivers addresses concerns including anxiety, depression, defiance, school issues, and aggression, to name a few.
My communication style
My communication style is direct, transparent, warm, and empathic; all necessary ingredients for a well-rounded therapeutic experience. In a session with me, a client can expect to laugh, be challenged, and feel heard.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a psychologist because I am captivated by the astounding variety in the human experience. I continue to do the work for the same reason!
My goals for you
Goals for treatment are co-created between the client and myself during the first session and in the initial phase of treatment.
My first session with you
During the first session, a client can expect to share about the reasons for seeking treatment and areas of concern for them. The client will also have the opportunity to ask me questions about my treatment approach, experience, and training should they wish.
