I know first-hand that finding a therapist who you feel comfortable with and connected to is very important, so I provide a safe and supportive environment where you can talk openly. I am a good listener, and I am interactive in sessions, offering a collaborative, compassionate, and empathetic approach to treatment.
My approach
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps you understand how your thoughts and feelings can influence your behavior. Through exercises in sessions and "homework" exercises outside of sessions, I will help you develop alternative coping strategies and learn to become more aware of your thoughts, so you can challenge them and think differently. This will in turn help you feel better and improve your motivation.
My focus
I am willing to see individuals, couples, and minors (ages 13-17). I have over 15 years of experience working with couples to improve communication and relationship issues, and with individuals who experience major depression, anxiety, family issues, personality disorders, and severe mental health disabilities such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorder.
My communication style
Be prepared to laugh, cry, and have a few inspirational moments. I provide a non-judgmental environment to help you move past a variety of life's challenges, including job stress, anxiety, depression, family issues, and other concerns that might bring you to seek professional help.
My goals for you
I believe that everybody has the capacity to change. I will help you find the courage and skills to change by listening, respecting, challenging, and offering you alternative ways of thinking and doing. If you have a goal or desire to heal, please reach out. I'm looking forward to starting this growth journey with you.
