Hi there, I'm Denise!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist using an integrative and holistic approach to see what fits you best. My focus areas include anxiety and depression, relationship and work issues, grief, life transitions, separation and divorce, and co-parenting issues.

My focus

I work with clients experiencing major life transitions that impact relationships with loved ones or colleagues. I help you work through depression and anxiety related to your life stressors, process grief and loss, and navigate aging. I also help young adults find direction and establish goals.

My approach

I bring together different therapeutic modalities to suit your individual needs and to help you meet your goals in therapy. I am compassion-focused. I often use cognitive behavioral and mindfulness techniques, as well as motivational interviewing, solution-focused, and strength-based therapies.

My communication style

My goal is to create a warm atmosphere of trust, confidentiality, non-judgment, and openness. I want you to feel comfortable discussing your most vulnerable issues. I am naturally calm and supportive, and I check in often to make sure you feel okay with the process.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have always wanted to help people find relief from emotional pain and discover understanding, purpose, and joy in their healing. We all go through hard times, and helping someone through their pain feels important to my life's work.

I will ask you what you hope to gain from therapy and how I can best help you attain your goals. Together, we will define those goals and discuss when you will know you have achieved what you hoped for by coming to therapy.

Our first session

I will review your intake forms and ask questions to gain more understanding of why you are coming to therapy. You will identify your most pressing concerns and how they impact your life. We will discuss ways we might work together to address your issues and create a treatment plan.
