Hello, My name is Kishan Bevil, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of California. I have a diverse professional and personal background, which has provided me with a multicultural perspective as it pertains to mental health.
My approach
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I take a Bio-Psycho-Social Model approach to treatment. This means that I consider how a person's biology, psychology, and socio-environmental factors are interconnected and in what ways they influence and impact a person's presenting problem(s). I will draw from various evidence-based practices and interventions to comprehensively address presenting problems. However, I believe that the most important factor in any intervention is creating a collaborative, trusting, and respectful working relationship.
My focus
I specialize in working with individuals on issues including Anger Management, Anxiety, Behavioral Issues, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Divorce, Domestic Violence, Family Conflict, Grief, Parenting, Personality Disorders, Relationship Issues, Self-Esteem, Self-Harming, Sexual Abuse, Stress, Suicidal Ideation, and Trauma and PTSD.
My communication style
I aim to create a collaborative, trusting relationship where we can openly discuss your challenges. My communication style is warm, direct, and focused on understanding your unique experiences and perspectives. I'll provide a safe space for you to share your thoughts and feelings as we work together toward your well-being and goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
My professional background includes working with children and adolescents who have been placed in foster care, probation detention facilities, enrolled in wraparound services, and in-home mental health programs over the span of 12 years. I have also worked with adults in forensic settings, dealing with a multitude of mental health issues, including schizophrenia, substance use disorders, trauma, and mental health crisis response. In addition to my experience, I have also obtained certifications as a Domestic Violence Facilitator from Anderson & Anderson Psychological Services and in Seeking Safety, an evidence-based treatment for trauma, PTSD, and substance abuse/unsafe behaviors, from the Center for Nonviolent Education and Parenting.
My goals for you
I look forward to joining you on your journey to achieving more positive outcomes, increased emotional well-being, and improved mental health.
