My name is Jacquelyn Mitchell, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Jackson, CA, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, and trauma. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Therapy.
My approach
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Therapy to help my clients make progress, feel better, and improve the quality of their lives. Both Modalities help me, and my client build a shared understanding of their reality and allow us to work together to create a path forward.
My focus
I have found my style and approach work best with adults struggling with various challenges, pressures, and trauma. Often times these issues create anxiety and depression that inhibit the ability to fully enjoy a quality of life.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, personable, and patient. I want my clients to feel comfortable discussing with me anything and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist because I like helping people who are struggling in life. Whether I was working as a teacher's aide, volunteering in the community, or being a trusted and loyal friend. I have always enjoyed helping others succeed.
My goals for you
My approach to setting goals is client-focused. I want to understand my client's goals and work on building trust to help them accomplish their goals.
My first session with you
What you can expect from our first session together is for the majority of the time talking about how you have been feeling recently and me asking questions to better understand some of why you may be feeling that way. This will help us build trust and rapport.
