Hi! My name is Joanne Talbot, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am a trauma therapist specializing in reducing emotional reactivity, self-blame, shame, and guilt associated with traumatic events.
My approach
I use an individualized approach to therapy, focusing on your needs and goals. Trained in CBT, DBT, EMDR, Behavioral, and Solution Focused Therapies, I use an integrated approach to therapy. My clients benefit from learning distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. I help develop internal and external resources, alleviate attachment issues, and reprocess trauma.

I work with individuals and couples with a variety of presenting problems, from acute stressors to chronic mental health disorders. I utilize trauma-informed care to ensure that underlying issues are addressed.

I develop a safe, supportive environment for my clients to address the most difficult times in their lives. I work to help people develop an increased acceptance of themselves and to feel more empowered.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always enjoyed helping people, and becoming a therapist felt like a natural choice. I love getting to know people and helping them grow through the therapeutic process.
