My name is Daniele Missler and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Los Angeles and working with clients who live throughout the state of California via telehealth. I work individually with adults and specialize in anxiety, stress, life transitions, and relationship issues using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, and Attachment-Based therapy.
My approach
My approach to therapy is customized to the needs of each person I work with. I often use a combination of CBT, Family Systems, and Attachment-Based therapy to address current concerns as well as build awareness about how patterns from the past may be impacting you in the present.
My focus
I have found that my style of therapy and approach is a good fit for adults, dealing with the challenges of daily life as well as major life transitions. This may show up as anxiety, overwhelm, stress, perfectionism, and burnout. I work with clients in developing skills to reduce stress and create new patterns that will support a life of more joy and ease.
My communication style
My communication style is relaxed and non-judgmental. I view therapy as a collaborative process, and I provide the space and time needed for clients to feel heard and understood. Throughout treatment, I share my insights while also recognizing that each person is the expert on their own life and welcome feedback from clients.
My journey to mental healthcare
Growing up in a multicultural and multiracial family, I developed an awareness of and interest in how our experiences and environments can shape us in unique ways. This gave me a sense of curiosity about the human experience and how to support people in a way that meets their specific needs. I enjoy the process of working with my clients to increase insight into where their challenges are coming from and how to move toward a more fulfilling life.
My goals for you
My approach to setting goals is based on each client's needs and preferences. You may have clear goals in mind at the beginning of therapy or it might take some time to identify what you want to accomplish with our time together. Once the goals are identified, I help clients break down goals into specific and manageable steps.
My first session with you
In the first session, you can expect to spend most of the time talking about what brought you into therapy and me asking questions about your current situation and history. This helps give context to your current circumstances and informs what direction to take moving forward in our work together.
