Hello! My name is Michelle and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have 10 years of experience with mental health from working in crisis, foster youth, and adults.
My approach
I utilize a person-center approach for working with clients. I focus on meeting clients where they at, providing empathy and a non-judgemental approach. Further, I also utilize CBT and Solution Focused interventions.
My focus
Throughout my experience I tend to find fulfillment working with adults needing support working through adjustments and challenges life brings. I encouraged you through out your journey whether facing challenges with depression, anxiety, trauma, or family conflict.
My communication style
I make my best effort to utilize humor, acceptance, and empathy as part of the therapeutic relationship. I find myself creating a safe, welcoming space for my clients to process.
My journey to mental healthcare
My love for psychology started early when I took an elective course in high school. When I entered college I found myself engaging in more psychology classes compared to what I thought I would originally major in. I found my love of clinical psychology and felt the desire to continue to pursue helping others gain insight and awareness.
My goals for you
The goals for therapy are a collaborative effort that are attainable and realistic, tailored to each clients needs.
My first session with you
During our first session I like to gather brief history and provide space for the client to discuss current stressors. From there, we will identify and discuss goals for therapy.
