My communication style

I am open and direct in my communication style. I'm very sympathetic to the difficulties we all encounter as we navigate our way through life. I understand how often our best efforts can fail - and I respect your decision to reach out. I look to encourage you to appreciate your efforts as well.

My journey to mental healthcare

As is sometimes the case with professionals in the mental health field, I started out as a client myself, seeking answers to my own struggles in living. I benefited greatly from my experience as a client and wanted to pursue my studies in psychology with the goal of becoming a therapist myself.

My goals for you

I have worked in a variety of therapeutic modalities over the years. I try to find the best approach for each person who comes to me for assistance. A balance of psychodynamic and cognitive behavior therapy is the best generalization of my style.

Our first session

In our first sessions together, I will generally just listen. I hope you will find me to be someone with whom you can comfortably share. I will try to clarify any questions you might have about me or about the therapeutic process generally. Our first meeting will give you a chance to determine if I am a good match for you.
