I work with adolescents and adults and specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, and couples counseling using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I approach my work with motivational interviewing and a client-centered approach.

I can work with most clients, although I typically work with individuals with acute depression and lifestyle changes.

My approach

My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I can be eclectic in my approach, although I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as both modalities help me and the client build a shared understanding of their reality and allow us to work together to chart a path forward.

My communication style

My communication style is calm, assertive, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about the issues that brought them to therapy. I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment.

My journey to mental healthcare

I decided to become a therapist so that I could better understand how different life experiences affect each individual in different ways and put that knowledge into practice to help people overcome different crises with the least emotional impact possible.

My goals for you

When it comes to goal setting, I provide the client the opportunity to take the lead since I strongly believe that the clients are the experts in their life experiences. I like to provide a safe space so that they can feel confident that their goals are taken seriously and will be attainable.

What you can expect from our first session together is, first, a brief introduction about the purpose of therapy, and then for us to spend time talking about what brought you to therapy and how you have been feeling recently. I will ask questions to get a better understanding of your situation.
