Hi there, I'm Rayven!

Hello, my name is Rayven Battles, and I am a licensed clinical social worker in California (LCSW 91756). I treat disorders including but not limited to anxiety, mood disorders, psychosis, post-traumatic stress, grief, and personality disorders. I aim to assist clients with managing stressors and achieving emotional wellness by developing appropriate coping skills, building insight, and increasing protective factors.

My approach

In therapy, I use theoretical approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy depending on the individual's needs and goals of the client. I focus on providing client-centered therapy in a supportive environment to promote healing and a sense of well-being.

My focus

I have experience working with clients ages 2 to 99 years old in community based-settings, outpatient clinics, and via telehealth. I am most comfortable treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, Post Traumatic Stress disorder (PTSD), Acute Stress Disorder, Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders, Behavioral Issues, ADHD, and behavioral issues.

My communication style

I use active listening, reflection, open-ended questions, empathy, humor, modeling, exploring, seeking clarification, and acceptance to create a safe and supportive environment when providing services to clients. I am a soft-spoken, compassionate, and understanding therapist. My personality traits allow clients to speak freely during sessions without the fear of being judged or misunderstood. Most importantly, I seek feedback from clients to ensure that the services provided are helpful and in line with the client's goals.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have a passion for helping clients achieve an optimal level of mental health. My desire to help others overcome challenges and excel in life led me to become a clinical social worker. My commitment to being a positive contribution to society by helping alleviate mental health suffering is what propels me to continue to provide quality mental health services.

My goals for you

I provide information about the risk, benefits, and limitations of therapy. Next, I seek feedback from the client about their reason for seeking services and inquire about the most important 1-3 goals he or she would like to address during therapy. After setting goals with the client, I provide information about helpful modalities, seek feedback about what he or she is willing to contribute, and any concerns or barriers that might affect treatment.

My first session with you

During the first session, I will share information about my professional experience and qualifications. Next, I will seek feedback from the client regarding their goals and expectations for therapy and clarify any questions or concerns. After confirming the fit is suitable for the client and therapist (me) we will review the treatment plan and discuss scheduling.
