My name is Karina Gonzalez and I have been working in various mental health agencies for the past 10 years. I currently hold an active license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 115848) and have extensive experience working with individual clients who have been diagnosed with PTSD, bereavement, depression, anxiety, and/or ADD.
My approach
I use varied approaches to therapy including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and narrative approaches. My emphasis is to teach trauma-sensitive coping skills using seeking safety 12-step modalities and to help clients create their narrative story to focus compassion for the past and empowerment to create a better future. I have trained with an emphasis in family systems and multicultural counseling which I believe helps clients weave their unique cultural background into their treatment goals.
