Hi! My name is Melvin Lewis I am a licensed Marriage and family therapist. My approach to therapy is to build a strong therapeutic relationship and fully connect with clients and learn how best to help them achieve the goals they seek in treatment. My focus areas are relationship success, family strengthening, healthy communication and providing support processing trauma, and building an overall healthy and balanced life.

My approach to therapy is being genuine and focusing on building, true connection and empathy, while at the same time working with the patient to learn what’s best for them, and to support them in connecting to their needs. In treatment, Eileen on cognitive behavioral therapy solution-focused therapy and uses common goals and skills built within the client to provide support.
My focus
I enjoy working with couples and individuals on marital issues, relationship issues, past childhood trauma, and adult trauma. I enjoy connecting with patients, allowing them to finally process information that will help them heal. I have also dealt with sexual addiction issues as well as sexual dysfunction in couples, individuals, and marriages. I have experience in sexual addiction groups and porn addiction groups as well.

In session, I like to create a healthy, respectful therapeutic relationship. One built on honesty and openness and empathy and non-judgmental.
My journey to mental healthcare
As a young man, growing up in a small town, I appreciated, helping others, listening to others, and being supportive of others, when they struggled with difficulties in their life. I have always wanted to be a therapist and help others. I look at life as a puzzle, and I love getting to know people and helping people. I have worked in law enforcement, and as a social worker and I have learned so much about human nature, healing in the need for communication, relationship, and trust without any judgment and full acceptance of where people are at all times in life.
