I see each person, couple, and family as individuals capable of building, healing, and growing. I take a collaborative and directive approach to encouraging individuals to challenge and overcome the barriers preventing them from living the life they are meant to have.
My approach
My approach to therapy is collaborative and directive. I work with clients to identify and overcome the obstacles holding them back from living their best lives. I draw upon various therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, Gestalt, Humanistic, Solution Focused, Structural Family Therapy, Adlerian, Narrative Therapy, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming to tailor my approach to each individual's needs.
My focus
I work with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents ages 13-17. My specialties include helping clients with anger management, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma/PTSD, chronic illness/pain, career and job stress, life transitions, family conflict, divorce, self-esteem, grief, and LGBTQIA+ issues, among others.
My communication style
You can expect me to provide a safe, warm, and trusting environment where you can openly explore and process your challenges. I am committed to actively listening, offering empathy and understanding, and collaborating with you to identify solutions and paths forward.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was inspired to pursue a career in mental healthcare after witnessing the positive impact therapy had on the lives of friends and family members struggling with mental health issues. This led me to obtain a Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Over my years of experience in the mental health field, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients, equipping me with ample knowledge to provide effective, appropriate, and compassionate care.
My goals for you
My goal is to empower you with the self-awareness, coping skills, and resilience needed to navigate life's challenges, heal from emotional pain, improve your relationships, and lead a more fulfilling life aligned with your values and aspirations. I aim to provide the guidance and tools to help you build upon your innate strengths and achieve lasting, transformative growth.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and begin to get to know one another. I will ask about your background, current challenges, and hopes for our work together. This is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions about my approach and experience. Together, we will start to develop a plan for your treatment, identifying your therapeutic goals and mapping the steps to achieve them. You can expect me to be engaged, attentive, and focused on understanding your unique story from the very start of our relationship.
