Hi there, I'm Jose!

As a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families to help them navigate life's challenges. With a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles, I am equipped to provide empathetic and effective care.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is grounded in techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I tailor my methods to each client's unique needs, working collaboratively to set goals, build coping skills, and foster personal growth. Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a strengths-based perspective are at the core of my practice.

My focus

I specialize in supporting individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of difficulties, including trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and life transitions. As a bilingual therapist, I am committed to providing culturally competent care and creating an inclusive space for clients from diverse backgrounds, including the LGBTQIA+ community.

My communication style

My communication style is warm, non-judgmental, and client-centered. I prioritize creating a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard and validated. Through active listening and open dialogue, we'll work together to develop insights, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build resilience. Expect me to be engaged, honest, and dedicated to your well-being.

My journey to mental healthcare

Growing up in South Los Angeles, I was initially unaware of psychotherapy and its benefits. As a biracial individual navigating cultural stereotypes and expectations, I struggled to fully understand my identity. It wasn't until graduate school that I began to process these experiences and embrace my authentic self. This journey ignited my passion for helping others heal and thrive.

My goals for you

My goal is to empower you with the tools and insights needed to lead a more fulfilling life. Whether you're seeking to manage stress, improve relationships, heal from trauma, or enhance self-esteem, I am committed to supporting your growth and resilience. Together, we'll work to identify your strengths, clarify your values, and develop a roadmap for positive change.

My first session with you

During our first session, we'll focus on building rapport and discussing what brings you to therapy. I'll invite you to share your story, concerns, and hopes for our work together. We'll also review policies and answer any questions you may have. Most importantly, I aim to create a warm, collaborative space where you feel comfortable opening up and beginning your therapeutic journey.
