Hi there, I'm Jodene!

I have worked in the Mental Health field for nearly nine years, and I have a deep passion and appreciation for the well-being of individuals and families dealing with various challenges that have negatively impacted their quality of life. In my prior experience as an MFT intern, I worked at several schools as a school-based counselor. The outcome of this experience enhanced my therapeutic skills to address antisocial behaviors, child abuse and neglect, and traumatic experiences in children and adolescents. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a volunteer for several non-profit organizations, I was able to expand upon my skills and knowledge in working with individuals impacted by collective traumatic events, addiction, dual-diagnosed clients, violence, and loss. The knowledge I gained through my dissertation research has provided me with a greater understanding of the impacts of transgenerational trauma and how the practice of cultural traditions and spirituality enables family systems to identify their unique cultural strengths as sources of healing.
