Hi there, I'm Karen Malia!
I’m thrilled you’re here. I’m an LCSW based out of the Bay Area in California, working to support individuals statewide via telehealth. I specialize in supporting adults through difficult life transitions and experiences, including serious illness, divorce, loss of a job, trauma, addiction, being a new parent, anxiety, depression, and bereavement.
My focus
Whether you’re dealing with addiction, depression, anxiety, loss, trauma, or a combination of multiple challenges, I have a long-held belief that we are all our own best healers, but sometimes need support in remembering such, especially amid the pain. Often, the first and hardest step is reaching out, but you are here, and that’s the first step.
My approach
I have over 24 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through major life challenges. My clinical experience began at Smith College School for Social Work, where I hit the ground running, doing clinically intensive work. Since then, and throughout my career, I have continued supporting clients in various settings.
