My communication style

My communication style is calm and welcoming. I’m direct in my questioning, and I work to empower my clients to advocate for their needs throughout the course of therapy. I listen without judgment and pay careful attention to what the person needs, not just what they say.

My journey to mental healthcare

I grew up in California's Central Valley as the son of hard-working, Spanish-speaking immigrants. Through my own journey of overcoming childhood and generational mental and emotional barriers, I found my calling. Now, I'm dedicated to helping my community tackle those same challenges.

My goals for you

Goal-setting is a collaboration that evolves throughout therapy. You lead by sharing what brought you in and what you'd like to focus on, while I offer guidance along the way. Goals can and do change, so we check in regularly to make sure we're always working toward what matters most to you.

Our first session

In the first session, you can expect us to talk about what brings you in, what you want out of therapy, what experience you have with therapy, and your relationship with your mental health. The first session involves getting a detailed history and also finding out if I’m the kind of therapist you want to continue to see.
