My name is Stacy Reid, and I am a licensed MFT in California working with individuals, adults, adolescents, families, couples and children who are seeking counseling and looking for support to deal with any of life's challenges, complications or problems. In counseling we will work together to focus on the issues that are most important to you, set goals and work towards improvement so that you and/or your family members may enjoy happier, peaceful more fulfilling days ahead.
My approach
In general, we will work together to build rapport and create a safe and comfortable space for you to share any problems you are facing, situations that may be complicated and explore your feelings. I use a psychodynamic, talk therapy approach to counseling sessions but will incorporate CBT, homework and/or reading assignments and other tools as necessary.
My focus
Work with individuals, couples and families; including adults, adolescents and children. I am available for telehealth or telephone sessions and couples and families may attend together, from the same location, or separately from various locations - in order to accommodate schedules and busy lives.
My communication style
The process of therapy will begin with an introductory session focused on assessment. The goal at this counseling session will be to gather information, introduce ourselves to one another, decide if it is a "fit" and we would like to work together towards your goals for counseling. It is an opportunity for you to tell your story, present whatever problems or concerns you may be having and perhaps some history of how you arrived at the session today.
