Hi there, I'm Mel!

Clients arrive with divergent treatment needs and ideas about therapy and its function. My aim is to help clients with their problems and to collaborate to best resolve them or at least have a better understanding of their conflict. A crisis can signal something that one has long ignored. It may be the doorway to the unveiling of a new experience of growth. I encourage my clients to take the lead while supporting their exploration toward a successful therapeutic outcome. In our collaboration, it is important to me that my clients feel safe and that I earn their trust. There is no "one size fits all" approach to therapy, and I am sensitive to the understanding that together, we will find which approach works best for you. I've assisted diverse individuals and families with communication skills, adapting to new life situations, depression, loss/grief, anxiety, early childhood trauma, and substance use. My clients include gay and straight individuals, couples, and families. I'm sensitive to each individual's history, culture, and socioeconomic situation. My approach is relationship focused toward a secure attachment. I look forward to working with you.
