Life can be challenging and complicated. Choosing a therapist doesn't have to be. I believe that building a genuine, open, and honest therapeutic relationship with my client is the best way to connect. Together, we will work to explore areas of your life that are challenging in order to set you on a path of happiness, fulfillment, and purpose.
My approach
My approach to therapy is supportive, non-judgmental, and empathetic, which allows me to connect on a higher level with my clients. My practice philosophy includes CBT, DBT, positive psychology, strengths-based, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed, EMDR, and person-centered approaches to help facilitate positive change.
My focus
My experience in the field of chemical dependency has allowed me the privilege of helping those struggling with addiction and mental health disorders, as well as their families. I have worked with individuals, families, and minors (ages 13-17). I specialize in addiction, alcohol use, anxiety, codependency, coping skills, depression, dual diagnosis, family conflict, life coaching, life transitions, parenting, relapse prevention, relationship issues, self-esteem, stress, substance use, and traumatic brain injury.
My communication style
I communicate in an open, genuine, and straightforward manner. My style is supportive and non-judgmental, allowing us to build a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and understanding. I listen with empathy and compassion, creating a safe space for you to share your thoughts and feelings. Together, we'll engage in honest dialogue to explore challenges and work towards positive change and growth.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have worked in the field of chemical dependency for the past fifteen years, including in residential treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, community-based, and school settings. This experience has given me a compassionate perspective for those struggling to get and stay sober. I am enthusiastic and passionate about helping clients find unique and creative solutions to problems.
