Hi, I'm Patricia. I am a licensed Marriage, Family Therapist with extensive experience working with clients to achieve the best version of themselves. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I meet you where you currently are in your life and circumstance, in a non-judgment compassionate manner to guide you in achieving your definition of happiness.
My approach
I approach individuals from a Family Systems perspective, meaning I view individuals in the context of their role in the family of origin. This view helps me uncover patterns that continue in adulthood that may no longer serve the client. Since every client is different, I utilize various tools such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
My focus
I enjoy working with adults in various phases of life with varying degrees of anxiety and depression. I have been providing therapy online for many years, and I appreciate this modality as it allows more clients to participate in treatment due to its convenience.
My communication style
My communication style is client-centered. It is based on trust, authenticity, empathy, and self-awareness. I strive to maintain genuine rapport with my clients and create an emotional space where they can fully express themselves. A safe therapeutic environment is essential to self-discovery!
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always wanted to help people, which is why I have been in Mental Health my entire career. As a therapist, I have the privilege of "holding" my client's stories while they work through their concerns and issues. I take this work very seriously, as I know how difficult it can be to address one's problems. As a therapist, it is essential to engage in self-care routinely as a way to remain present with my clients.
My goals for you
Therapy is most effective when it is a collaborative process. I engage in conversations regarding goals and outcomes as well as treatment progress. I continuously check in with clients on how they feel their therapy is going and encourage feedback.
My first session with you
The relationship between client and therapist is paramount for therapy to be effective. So, I'd like to make my client feel comfortable during the first session. As I listen to my client's stories, I provide support, encouragement, and validation for their experiences. Every client needs to be heard and valued; my goal is to make them feel seen and heard.
