I strive to create a therapeutic space that feels safe and supportive, where clients can challenge distorted thoughts or beliefs and simultaneously feel seen, heard, and accepted.

My focus

I work primarily with adults across the lifespan, addressing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges, which include LGBTQIA+/identity, substance use, parent/adolescent and family conflicts, employment stress, and elderly/health/aging issues.

My approach

My therapeutic style is an integrative Gestalt approach, grounded in person-centered therapy, CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, psychodynamic principles, and the Seeking Safety model. I incorporate an understanding of family dynamics and recovery-based practices to support holistic healing.

My communication style

At the core of my practice is a belief in the transformative power of empowerment, compassion, vulnerability, and urgency. My communication style is compassionate and nonjudgmental, yet also direct, focused, and clear, guiding clients with honesty and care as they navigate their growth.

My journey to mental healthcare

Having my own lived experience, as well as having parents and family members managing (or not) mental health and substance use issues, and witnessing the impact it had on behavioral and social life choices. I have been working in social services since 2002 in community health and prevention.

By combining evidence-based techniques with deep attunement to each individual's lived experience, I help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

The first session can include requirements from the referral source. Yet, as always, starting wherever the client wants to start: rapport, history sharing, or goal exploration.
