I specialize in working with clients addressing anxiety, depression, substance abuse, forgiveness, as well as trauma.

My approach

I mainly utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness as my go-to strategies to give you tangible, reliable tools to work with. My approach is informed by principles of Ubuntu, restorative justice, and stoicism.

I'm here to listen to you, partner with you, and challenge you to rethink old behavior and thinking patterns that no longer serve you. I embrace a collaborative approach and my communication style is generally straightforward with sprinkles of humor.

My journey to mental healthcare

Listening is my superpower! Throughout my life I have been drawn to understanding people, connecting with them, and helping to make people's lives better. I have worked in substance abuse programs for many years and value being a fellow passenger on the Hope Train.

My goals for you

We will start digging into the underlying causes of the distress you are experiencing while collaborating on goals for therapy. Throughout our time together, I will provide a sounding board, education, teach skills and tools, and assign homework to practice skills and refine how they fit in your life.

Our first session

We will start by building rapport and getting to know each other while figuring out the direction for therapy. I strive to create a warm and open atmosphere for you to feel the most comfortable sharing in.
