Hi, my name is Rebecca Lewis Varghese and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I work collaboratively with clients, with the goal of providing insight, compassion, and encouragement. Self-care, setting boundaries, practicing mindfulness, and maintaining a gratitude practice is encouraged. Tools are shared. My sessions aim to improve your well-being and provide a sense of peace. Trauma happens to us, but we don't have to remain victims - we can choose healing and recovery.
My approach
I commonly utilize CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and mindfulness approaches. I am trauma-sensitive.
My focus
I typically work with clients who are navigating self-esteem issues, relationship issues, parenting struggles, work problems, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship issues as well as parenting struggles. I have experience working with clients who identify as LGBTQ+ as well as multicultural clients.
My communication style
We all need to feel that we are seen and heard and supported by others. I listen empathetically and provide insight and tools. I am non-judgemental and collaborative.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have a love for animals and I have always been compassionate toward others. I graduated with my Masters in Social Work in 2003. I not only have professional expertise but also lived experience. I have been on my own therapeutic journey over the past few years and have found so much value in the support that I received and the tools that I have been provided. My goal is to provide insight, instill hope and inspire growth. Healing is possible.
My goals for you
Goal setting with clients is collaborative.
My first session with you
We are all humans doing the best we can. Clients can expect compassion and acceptance. I am easy to talk to as well as understanding.
