I’m Dr. Alex L. Andrade Jr., a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly 15 years of experience. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, substance use, grief, life changes, relationship concerns, and other challenges, providing individualized psychotherapy tailored to your needs and goals.

My focus

I primarily work with adults, including people who are new to therapy and those who have had previous treatment. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, life changes, relationship concerns, health-related issues, and substance use.

My approach

I take an individualized, collaborative approach to therapy - I believe in fitting therapy to the client. I adapt treatment to your concerns, goals, and needs, offering brief, focused treatment when appropriate or longer-term therapy for ongoing concerns. I also consider the important connection between mental and physical health.

I strive to create a supportive, respectful, and collaborative environment where you can openly discuss what you are experiencing. My approach is flexible and focused on understanding your concerns, identifying what may be helpful, and working together toward meaningful change.

My journey to mental healthcare

I earned my doctorate in psychology from Roosevelt University and gained clinical experience through academic training, private practice, and integrated primary-care settings. The experience of providing a space in which people could share deep and meaningful concerns to receive help is what drew me to the field of clinical psychology.

We begin by identifying the concerns bringing you to therapy and what you hope to accomplish. From there, I tailor treatment to your needs and goals, periodically reviewing progress and adjusting our approach when needed to ensure therapy remains focused and useful.
