My focus

I work with children, teens, young adults, couples, older adults, and members of the LGBTQIA community. I address grief, gender identity, couples issues, sexual education, trauma, generational trauma, religious trauma, anxiety, and depression.

My approach

My approach is family systems. I work with the entire family to address patterns of behavior that contribute to the problem, focusing on communication, roles, and boundaries. I also utilize evidence-based practices such as CBT, Solution-focused, Mindfulness, Trauma Focus CBT, Motivational Interviews, and EMDR.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was raised in a border town with no access to mental health services. I had a lot of anger due to childhood trauma and no one to talk to about my feelings. I felt this need to connect with someone, to explore why I was so angry. I discovered this profession and wanted to be a therapist.

In collaboration with my client, empowering my clients to have a voice in their mental health treatment.

Our first session

During the first session, I will inquire about presenting problems, obtain historical information, build rapport, and explain the therapy process and style.
